I'm one of those girls with a weakness for perfumes. I think the right perfume can reflect your personality and mood; it's also important to choose a perfume that works well with your own personal scent (your 'pheromones').

My favourite perfume OF ALL TIME is DKNY's Be Delicious

I wear this so often, I find it weird to smell it on another person! It's crisp, sweet, lasts all night and I ALWAYS get compliments when I wear it. I like to save this because, when I wear it, it makes me feel confident and sexy, so wearing it in the day would ruin that effect I think.

I've always loved Davidoff Cool Water Woman:

I find it really refreshing to wear in the daytime and it has great longevity. I can't wait to get this out again now it's summer!

...Also, as a side note, the guys version of this is one of my all time favourite male scents! Gorgeous!

I've had Kate Moss' Vintage Muse for a while:

I just love this picture of Kate, don't you?

I like this fragrance, though is is quite strong and woody in my opinion which I normally don't go for. I find that I need a certain event to wear it to, though... like something posh, I guess? Beautiful for the winter, though!

I also has 'Kate Moss - Kate' (the rose one) at one point, which smelt great but unfortunately lasted for less than an hour, no matter how much you sprayed on! And no, I'm not joking! If they could sort out the strength and longevity of that perfume, I'd probably re-purchase as it was lovely though.

I also have CK Secret Obsession:

I got this as a gift, and it certainly isn't something I'd ever pick out for myself! However as with the Vintage Muse perfume, it has a gorgeous deep scent to it that lasts and lasts (in fact you have to be a little careful how much you put on otherwise it can be a bit overpowering). I like to wear this out as a change from my Be Delicious.

I'm a huge fan of the Avon perfumes. My favourite perfume to wear in the day is Little Black Dress:

...In fact, day or night, this perfume is AMAZING. They really hit the nail on the head with this one - despite it being a cheap brand (and normally I HATE cheap perfumes) I really love this perfume. I wore it last night to a pub quiz with some old school friends and as I was hugging one goodbye he said, "Ooh, you smell great!" You know it's a keeper when you receive compliments!

Because of my absolute love for Little Black Dress, I decided to try out the other two perfumes in the range, Little Red Dress:

and Little White Dress:

Initially, I was really disappointed in Little Red Dress. It's a bit too sweet for my regular tastes, a bit too frilly and girly. However, once it's settled onto my skin, it actually smells quite nice! For the price, it wasn't a bad buy, but it's got nothing on the Little Black Dress.

Little White Dress is a bit forgettable to be honest, though I have it in a teeny little bottle to carry around in my purse and use it for touch ups when I need to. I need to wear it more often and make a more definitive decision on it!

On my purchase list is the Chanel CHANCE EAU FRA√éCHE:

It smells so pretty and refreshing, just my cup of tea!

What are your favourite perfumes? What do you recommend?

My Favourite Nail Varnishes

This is just part of the bag...

My nail varnish collection is pretty extensive. I read somewhere once that, if you're feeling low and your self esteem is down, a great way to feel better about yourself is to do your nails. You see your hands constantly, so having them look nice will make you feel better about yourself. It definitely rings true for me; if I'm going on a night out and my nails aren't done, I feel unfinished and scruffy! I have a lot of colours to match an abundance of outfits, seasons, moods and events.

Here are my favourite picks:

From top L-R

Revlon Nail Enamel in 907 Steel-her Heart

Such a great nail varnish! Beautiful colour, quite a good longevity, really nice texture (not too thick) so it's easy to apply... one coat looks great, but I always prefer two!

Lacura Beauty in 220

Quite a thick texture, but I always get compliments whenever I wear this! A lovely Autumn colour.

Nails inc. London in Victoria & Albert

Gotta love a good red! Quick thick so it can be a bit messy to apply but, once on, it is such a beautiful colour. It doesn't have brilliant longevity, which is a shame!

SinfulColours Professional in 265 Rich In Heart

I bought this in a little boutique in Derby around Christmas time when I was desperate for something with a big of shimmer to it. This has really nice depth to the colour, it's got a nice texture and the longevity is pretty good too. And it was only about £2 - win!

Nail Paint by Barry M in 273 Raspberry

I buy this nail varnish time and time again. It must be my favourite nail varnish shade of all time. It's just gorgeous, it goes with everything, I LOVE IT!

Essie in 808 Skirting The Issue

It's like a slightly darker version of the Nail Paint my Barry M above, but it is gorgeous! Quite a watery texture which I like, so you do have to apply a few coats.

Chanel Le Vernis in Rouge Noir

Now these have got a surprisingly watery texture! But I like it, I find it easier to apply and the coats dry faster. I apply this 3 times to make it a really deep, dark colour. Longevity is ok.

Nail Paint by Barry M in NP 148

I'm wearing this colour at the moment and it makes me feel so summery! It's so gorgeous and bright and happy, what's not to like!

CND in Cream Washed #507 Neutral O'Sheer

I saw a picture of a model wearing this on her nails and decided I MUST have it. It took me a while to track down and when I applied it... well, lets just say it didn't look how I hoped it would! This is a tricky one, because when applied correctly (i.e. you have half an hour to apply 6 coats, letting it dry in between each time) it looks AMAZING. But if you're in a rush? Don't even bother. This is such a beautiful, dreamy, creamy colour, despite it's flaws I still love it.

Make-up Tutorial: I'm ill!

I woke up this morning after the worst nights sleep ever and have had to accept the fact I have caught a cold. I am the WORST when I have a cold - pretty darn pathetic! Give me physical pain over a blocked nose and pounding head any day!

Anyway, always one to see the glass half full, I thought I'd take the opportunity to do a make-up look on looking healthy with a bit of colour when you're feeling/looking really rubbish. Enjoy!

Me before - I've cleansed, toned and moisturised and left enough time for it all to sink into my skin.

Much better! Here's what I used to do it:

I started off using my 'Rimmel Clear Complexion Stick' under my eyes to cover the bags I've got from such a horrid, sleepless night and around my nose as I've been blowing it a lot and it's gone all horrid and red.

Next, I used my 'Maybelline The Eraser Anti-Age Foundation', dotted it onto my face and buffed it in with my 'Real Techniques Expert Face Brush'.

I then used my liquid concealer (I believe it's No7 but the name has rubbed off) under my eyes to brighten them up a bit and around my nose and a little on my chin. I used my small Real Techniques foundation brush and my fingers to gently pat onto my skin.

I then took my 'Real Techniques Multi-Task Brush' and used it to swirl a bit of 'W7 Honolulu Bronzer' onto my contour area, a little on my temples, down my nose, across my chin and along my jawline. (I love this product, it's a great bronzer for pale people as it's not very orange and it's a cheap duplicate for 'Benefits Hula Hula'!)

To put a bit of colour back into my cheeks, I used my 'Real Techniques Blush Brush' and my 'Paese blusher with Argan Oil' and gently put a bit across my cheeks, blending into my bronzer.

After finishing my face, I moved onto my brows! I always use my trusty 'Calvin Klein Brow Palette in Blonde' to fill in my brows. I then use a reddish coloured eyeshadow to put a bit of red into them to match my hair (the palette this shade is in was INCREDIBLY cheap and I bought it purely for this shadow!) and to finish off I sweep a clear mascara through them, to set everything and to keep my brow hairs in place.

Onto the eyes, I used my 'Avon Eyeshadow Duo in Healthy Glow'. I used the lighter shade all over my eyelids blending towards the brow, and then used the brown colour across my crease and took it a little under the eye. I used my cheap and cheerful eyelash curlers (I need a new pair stat!), and then whacked a load of 'Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara' on. I also used my 'Max Factor False Lash Effect' because the brush is really good at separating my lashes.

On my lips I used 'Bourjois Rouge Hi-Tech Lip Tint in 82 - Rouge Futuriste'.

And to finish off, I used my 'Paese Rich Powder' to mattefy my nose and chin areas.

And voila! Finito!
