Barry M Lip Gloss

Today I was rummaging through one of my many make-up bags when I came across two Barry M lip glosses. I completely forgot about these - so figured I'd wear them today and do a review!

This is the actual colour of the gloss, looks way different in the lighting of the photo I took!

I'll start with the red one!

First, I don't like the fact they they don't seem to name the colours of their glosses (boooo!). Instead, they put a number on the bottom, which is pretty hard to read. However I believe the shade of the red gloss I have is '045'.

It looks pretty vibrant in the tube, but on it appears quite sheer.

It smells like cherry, which I like!

It has the texture of Vaseline - in my opinion, the PERFECT texture for a lip gloss! Not sticky in the slightest!

After researching this gloss I found it might actually have been a valentine's special... if that's the case then NOOOOO!! I need to stock up, fast!

The second pink gloss is shade... er, I can't really tell, because it's rubbed off!

This is when I searched the web in hopes of finding the correct shade, and discovered that these glosses are REALLY hard to find, because they have numbers AND names but Barry M can't seem to decide which they prefer so it's all mixed up and confusing... The pink one is REALLY difficult to find, with some describing it as coral, others as pink. It's either called 'Flamingo', 'Coral' or 'Strawberries and Cream'... personally, I think it's the coral one, though it definitely looks more pink to me!

Anywho, moving on!

The pink one (Flamingo? Strawberries & Cream? Coral? MAKE YOUR MINDS UP, BARRY M!) smells sooooo divine. I'm serious. I can quite happily just sit and smell it's yummy deliciousness for ages, it smells so good!

It has the same great Vaseline texture of the cherry one, with a sheer coverage and no stickiness.

As you can see, if you're after a lot of colour with your lip gloss these aren't for you. If, however, you like your gloss to smell gorgeous, be quite sheer and non-sticky, these are perfect!

I actually love them. I would go as far to say they are my favourite day-to-day lipgloss, and would be easy to wear over a lipstick at night too. Will I be repurchasing? DEFINITELY!... well, if I can find them, anyway!

These glosses are around £4.25 and can be purchased from the Asos and Amazon websites, and the Barry M stands that are regularly in Boots and Superdrug.

These glosses really are amazing, if only Barry M could sort themselves out a bit and figure out which ones to keep, which ones to make special edition, and what to name them!

If you guys think you know the names to these glosses, let me know in the comments below!

Pin-up Make-up & Fun Photoshoot

So today my friend Becky (Meli & Becky Go Travelling!) came over. I decided to take advantage of the situation and do a bit of pin-up make-up practise on her!

Oh, I also did her hair with my Remington Keratin Therapy Curling Iron:

I just sprayed a load of heat protector spray onto her hair and curled small sections in the same direction:

I then made her shake her head upside down for a bit, and sprayed with hair spray. Voila! Easy peasy!

Now on to the make-up...

The items I used to create this look were:

Paese Matte Primer
Avon Ideal Flawless Foundation in Shell
Rimmel Clear Complexion Stick in Ivory
Collection Liquid Concealer in Fair
Calvin Klein Brow Palette in Soft Blonde
Colour Lash Clear Mascara (on brows)
Sleek Palette in Ultra Mattes V2
Dainty Dolls Blusher in Money Talks (for contour)
Paese Blush with Argan Oil in 35
Red Eyelash Curlers
High Lights by Technic (for highlighting)
Black Liquid Eyeliner by BC
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Peach Glow
They're Real Mascara by Benefit
Red Lip Liner by Models Own
Lipstick by Rimmel 'Signature Red'
Clear Gloss by Models Own

All brushes by Real Techniques

Here are some fun pin-up style pics we took whilst she had her make-up done:

Next time I'll use false eyelashes too. Such a fun, girly day, I love playing around with make-up and hair! Let me know what you think!

Tom Ford Haul/Review

For my 22nd, my beautiful friend Sarah (Skin Perfecting) got me some Tom Ford products, and since receiving them I've been dying to do a review!

I got the Tom Ford lipgloss in 'Rose Crush', the Tom Ford 'Translucent Finishing Powder in Alabaster Nude', and the Tom Ford lipstick in 'Sable Smoke'.

I'll start with the lipstick!

As you can see, it's a sort of brown nude delight.

I adore Tom Ford lipsticks, from the packaging, the smell (vanilla, but not overpowering), the texture... they're soft and beautiful and this will definitely be part of my daily make-up routine for quite some time!

Next on to the lipgloss in Rose Crush:

The lipgloss looks more like a lacquer on first inspection but once applied it's much more transparent  Having said that I'm sure the colour could be built up for more depth. It has a brush type applicator, and smells like the lipstick but a bit stronger. It has a great balance between having a sticky/glossy texture, and feels nice on the lips. I love the colour! As Sarah pointed out, this will look GORGEOUS layered on top of a nude lipstick, or just on it's own in the day.

And finally the translucent finishing powder in Alabaster Nude:

Comes with a cute suede pouch!

Applicator brush

Ah, this is just divine. I LOVE the fact it comes with a protective pouch, because when opening this you do feel a strong motherly need to protect it from grubby fingers and outside elements to keep it shiny and new. The packaging is just so top end and gorgeous it's unreal. The product itself does everything you want it to, and it's an every day item I would use all the time (I probably wont though, I'll be saving this bad boy for posh date nights etc for when I want to feel posh and sophisticated and expensive!)

I would totally recommend these items for anyone who wants one or two items in their make-up bag that, when applied, makes them feel AMAZING. I think the actual process of applying these beauties, holding the gorgeous packaging and marvelling at such an expensive item is part of the charm for sure.
